Artists and recycling enthusiasts alike are invited to take part in the Great Valley Center’s first ever Trash to Treasure Creative Reuse Contest. The contest will occur during the Great Valley Center’s annual conference Green Momentum: Prospering in a New Economy, taking place May 7-8, 2008 in Sacramento.

Entries
The entry fee is $20 per submission. Participants are limited to 3 entries total but are not limited in how they can be distributed among the categories
Submissions will be judged in three categories:
- Wearable- clothing, accessories, etc.
- Functional- furniture, tools, etc.
- Decorative arts- sculpture, wall art, home décor, etc.
All entries submitted must consist of materials that are being reused. Participants must be the creator of the submission and have full rights to the content.
Participants must submit an entry form and fees to the Great Valley Center by Thursday May 1, 2008. Payment may be made by check or credit card.
Judging
People’s choice winners will be awarded in each of the categories. Entries will be judged during the conference by conference attendees. Each conference participant will be given one vote per category.
Winners
Winners will be announced at the conference at noon on Thursday, May 8. Winners need not be present to win.
Prizes of up to $250 to be awarded in each of the 3 categories. Great Valley Center reserves the right to alter or redistribute awards based on the number and quality of entries.
Delivery of Entries
All entries must be dropped off at the Sacramento Radisson Hotel at conference registration on Wednesday, May 7 between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. The entries will stay on display throughout the conference and will need to be picked up between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8. All pieces not picked up at that time will become property of the Great Valley Center. Entries may be delivered and/or picked up by a proxy for the artist. The Great Valley Center is not able to provide transportation to or from the conference for any entries.
