Prop. 84 Committee Announces Bipartisan, Diverse Executive Committee LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The Proposition 84 campaign today
announced its Executive Committee members for the Clean Water, Parks and
Coastal Protection Bond, which will appear on the November 2006 statewide
ballot. The Executive Committee members come from every region of California,
and represent all major interest groups, reflecting the broad spectrum of more
than 300 organizations and opinion leaders supporting this important measure. The $5.4 billion bond measure would provide critically needed funds to ensure the availability of safe drinking water, improve local water supply reliability, strengthen flood protection, and preserve California's natural landscapes, including parks, lakes, rivers, beaches, bays, ocean and coastline. "The broad base of leaders who have coalesced to help pass Proposition 84 is a testament to the important statewide and regional benefits of this measure," said Michael Mantell, Campaign Chairman for Proposition 84. "This support, which cuts across party lines and interests, shows that Californians are united to protect our children and families by cleaning up drinking water and beaches, and preserving our parks and forests." Members of the Proposition 84 Executive Committee are from Northern to Southern California, the Central Valley, coastal communities to the Sierra Nevadas, and represent key constituencies, including water, agriculture, conservation, and business.
