CITIGROUP SUCCESS FUND SEEKS GRANT APPLICATIONS
FROM CENTRAL VALLEY SCHOOL TEACHERS
(MODESTO, California) February 20, 2007 – The Citigroup Success Fund is accepting grant applications from Central Valley classroom teachers who have innovative program ideas to involve parents, businesses and community organizations in the well being of young people.
The 2007 Citigroup Success Fund in partnership with the Great Valley Center will make small grants to K-12 classroom teachers with creative proposals designed to help students overcome a range of social and learning challenges. The program is open to teachers in Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Kings, Fresno, Tulare and Kern Counties. Since 2005, the Citigroup Success Fund has awarded grants to more than 100 public school programs in the Central Valley.
"When businesses work with nonprofit organizations to find creative ways to help our schools, everyone in the community benefits," said Mary Hogarty, Citibank's community relations director for the Central Valley and Nevada. "We’re proud to work with the Great Valley Center to offer this program for the third year in a row. ."

This year, grant awards will range from $500 to $1,500 and recipients will be notified in Summer 2007. All projects must be completed between October 2007 and June 2008. All applications are due by April 21, 2007.
